In Vietnam, GETINSA has been awarded the management and the works supervision of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Highway project. The contract amounts to 20 Million U.S. $ and its duration is of 37 months.  It is the biggest highway Technical Assistance contract awarded to a Spanish company in Southeast Asia.

The project is partly financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the "Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC)" agency is in charge of its development.  Further on, the VEC will also be responsible for the operation and the maintenance of the highway. It is one of the most important projects funded by the ADB in Southeast Asian with a total amount of 1,400 million U.S. $

This highway section is part of the Kunming-Haiphong Transport Corridor within the Greater Mekong Sub region”. The new highway, 244 km long, extends through the north-eastern region of Vietnam, from Noi Bai, part of the Hanoi suburbs, to Lao Cai, bordering China. It has 10 highway interchanges, 5 service areas and related toll stations.

The civil work will be conducted through eight (8) contracts of approximately 30 kilometres each. The contractors who have been awarded or preawarded the first 5 sections of the highway are Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese.

GETINSA will provide Technical Assistance to the VEC not only for the monitoring and the quality control of the civil works, but also for the contracting of the equipment as well as for the highway operation and maintenance activities.

GETINSA will conduct the project management and works supervision services with the support of HAFICO and APECO, two Vietnamese engineering companies, and of VISION-RI, an Indian engineering company.
